About Us

Our story

The club was first registered with the Kennel Club in 1975, and was exclusively for those who competed in field trials.

Over the years, like all things, it had to adapt or fade away, and started training classes for companion dogs as well, progressing to holding an annual dog show in the grounds of Rochester castle.

Today we solely train companion dogs, and their handlers, who occasionaly display their handling skills at village fetes.

Our classes are based on the Kennel Club’s Good Citizen Dog Scheme from Puppy Foundation through Bronze, Silver and Gold levels.

You will find us listed on the Kennel Clubs website.

Our Instructors

Our instructors, all volunteers, have a wealth of experience between them, and are actively engaged in a variety of canine activities.

They are members of the Pet Dog Training Instructors organisation. www.pdti.org

All are continually progressing their professional development with the latest training methods.

They do not use, or allow, harsh handling in their training methods, only praise and reward. It is based on building companionship and trust between the dog and owner, oh OK and the odd treat now and then Image result for smiling dog pictures

We also have several people who are in various stages of learning to become instructors
